The Southdown Enthusiasts Club and former publication sales by Dinnages Transport Publishing
The full range of Southdown Enthusiasts Club Publications have been available from Dinnages since 1992, yes 18 years ago this year not 1997 as previously thought.
Out of Print or obsolete titles that the Southdown Enthusiasts Club no longer has in stock, 'Dinnages' still have some of these available, obviously offered at higher than the original cover price. The older titles in a typewriter format are never likely to be reprinted unless revised totally using modern type print.
Southdown Enthusiasts Club members and other enthusiasts of Southdown, Sussex and Brighton Area Bus companies can obviously obtain any current titles direct from the Southdown Enthusiasts Club Postal Officer, or the few sales stalls attended, although not on impulse by using a credit/debit cards online. Since being retailers of Southdown and Brighton based diecast models and books from other publishers, we carried all the variety of odd ball small print run titles, with over time many of our customers receiving items on a standing-order service.
Being we are no longer current stockists of the range, we no longer show the images on this page of all the titles we have had in stock at some time while being a stockist, yet for available titles in stock, do nip over to the online shop to purchase any item of interest.
While looking through our accounts for the annual book keeping needs for the usual returns we have actually noted that our very first full year selling Southdown Enthusiasts Club publications was way back in 1992, not 1997 as previously thought. That year we purchased at trade some £810 worth, with a similar amount the year after. Succussive years had been rewarding for both ourselves and the club in that time and we are sure this is a noticable loss. Pity full reciprocial arrangements in promotion of each other were deemed a conflict!

So no longer a stockist, but a lot to offer otherwise...
Alongside the collection of new and secondhand books, some diecast models, Transport DVD and Train Simulators, as of April 2009, we have really stepped up our efforts with regard to our photographic library, printing and selling new 6x4 prints through a monthly Newsletter dedicated to promote sales of these offerings.
The Dinnages Picture Library of photographs only use original negatives and slides. Not all photo libraries are the same!
